The International Festival "The Days of Jazz in Arkhangelsk"

The festival is organized by the famous saxophonist, director of the jazz group "Arkhangelsk" Vladimir Rezitsky in 1982.
In 2012 the event was held as "The Festival of Contemporary Arts named after Vladimir Rezitsky".
From the very beginning "The Days of Jazz" were aimed at the promotion of new jazz, without detriment, however, to the traditional styles of jazz – within the framework of the festival those two trends are usually presented on different days.
The event includes presentations of creativity of professional musicians, painters, photographers from Russia, Europe, USA, Japan, master classes, the project "Jazz-relay" with the participation of gifted students of music and secondary education schools, excursion programmes.
From 1982 to 1990 regular sea cruises were organized, from 2006 to 2008 air tours to Solovki Islands were made.
In 2014 it is planned to attract an audience of up to 2500 people to Arkhangelsk and up to 100 people for visit to Solovki Islands.
